Justin Timberlake For The 'Baywatch' Movie?

We all know the singer-turned-actor isn’t averse to taking his shirt off, and that makes Justin Timberlake the ideal candidate for the lead in a movie version of Baywatch

. Never mind his acting credentials in , , , and the upcoming Clint Eastwood baseball flick, Trouble With The Curvewe want to see the man’s chest!

According to Twitch, Paramount has approached Timberlake with a proposition to step into the shorts of David Hasselhoff. If he accepts, he could be playing a disgraced former Olympic swimmer who tries out for the Baywatch lifeguard crew.

A big screen version of the TV showwhich had an impressive 10-year runhas been in development for some time now. Will Timberlake sign up? It’s anyone’s guess at the moment. He’s been known to take on a few roles with a pinch of comedic salt, so it’s definitely not out of the question.

However, Timberlake is set to appear in the Coen Brothers’ next film, Inside Llewyn Davis

, which looks like it’s going to be a sophisticated exploration of New York’s folk scene in the 1960s. JT’s involvement in the film, and his part in The Trouble With The Curve, suggest that he is trying to break away from what might be described as lowbrow blockbusters. Watch this space, because he could certainly surprise us with some beach action nonetheless, assuming he’s got the time for it.

And, yes, before you ask: The writers have already stated that the script has roles for David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson, should they want them.
