If you’ve missed the cuddly little monsters Mike and Sulley, since their debut in over a decade ago, we have great news for you.
We’re very excited to announce that we have the brand new first trailer for Monsters University
, the prequel to the widely adored, hilarious and heart-warming animation. And they’re pranking around in their college dorms. Check it out here, via Huffington Post:Great touches of humor, no? As you can see, Sully has been playing tricks on Mike in a successful attempt to turn him into a mirror-ball for the evening. The Pixar comedy of 2001 was staggeringly generous with its witty lines, its allusions, above all with its sheer visual spectacle and it looks like this one will be the same. Like?
took our childhood fear of demons and creepy-crawlies and turned it into the perfect premise: that monsters are organized to scare us; that it’s their day job. Mike and Sully completely deconstructed our irrational fears with the first movie as the inseparable ‘Scarer’ duo. This time around, we learn that from the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other. So, the forthcoming prequel unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends.
Sounds like a great first premise for the movie. Even better news is that Billy Crystal and John Goodman have returned to reprise their roles of Mike and Sulley in the new film, and Steve Buscemi will also reprise his role as the scaly, slithery Randall Boggs.
Another refreshingly great piece of news, for which we have Pixar to thank. Can’t wait!
