Prolific and highly-respected actor Ryan Phillippe has climbed as high as he can with this acting lark. Like giants Mel Gibson and Clint Eastwood before him, Phillippe has achieved all there is to achieve in acting, so logically has turned his hand to directing.

For his first movie, the exciting young filmmaker Phillippe has taken on a largely autobiographical project by the name of Shreveport

(say that when you’re drunk) a horror movie wherein a fading movie star is suddenly kidnapped, held hostage and tortured while filming a low-budget film in the Louisiana city.

Classic Phillippe. Seriously, though, it’s nice to see him stretching his acting chops a little bit. Phillippe has never been an actor who I’ve found to light up the screen, so perhaps behind the camera his true talents will shine. He’s also set to star in the movie so expect to see some more I Know What You Did Last Summer gruesome shit happening to the baby faced actor.

It’s being produced Twisted Pictures, the company behind the Saw franchise, with filming beginning this summer. Excited yet?
