We’ve already seen images of the Pacific Rim
cast in some pretty cool-looking exoskeleton/battle armor suits, but that isn’t all that director Guillermo del Toro has in store for us. Judging by this poster publicizing the film’s Comic-Con appearance, we’re going to be seeing robots. Massive robots. Awesome!
When del Toro pitched his idea of an alternate reality where mankind’s fraught future depends on us fighting monsters deep below the sea, I thought it couldn’t possibly get any better. Then he cast Thor: The Dark World
actor Idris Elba, Babel star Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Hunnam of Sons of Anarchy and Homeland‘s Diego Klattenhoff.I’m sure this isn’t the end of del Toro’s quest for movie excellence, though I really can’t imagine how he’s going to top what we know so far. Whatever he ends up revealing at Comic-Con, I can guarantee you this: it’s going to be big.
