It’s great to see the camaraderie exhibited by fans of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Comic-Con kicked off the festivities with preview night last night, and knowing that not everyone has the chance to make it to the beloved conference, some generous Middle Earth fans snapped these photos so that the rest of us can enjoy the latest goodies too!There are 16 new character posters over at CinemaBlend, including Thorin, Fili, Kili, Balin, Oin, Gloin, Ori, Dori, Nori, Bifur, Bofur, and Bombur. Then there’s Bilbo, Galadriel, Gandalf and Golum. Why they’ve left out poor old Dwalin is anybody’s guess. Still, quite a treat for fans! And in 3D, too! (not that we can really enjoy that aspect on our computer screens…) We knew Peter Jackson wouldn’t let us down.
Below are some of our favorites: Cate Blanchett’s ethereal Galadriel, comic relief character Bombur, Gimli’s poor unfortunate cousin (technically a first cousin once removed), Aidan Turner’s ‘sexy dwarf’ Kili, and of course Martin Freeman’s Bilbo.
The posters give us a perfect idea of the individual dwarf characters, and the makeup and prosthetics are first rate. We’d expect no less from Jackson after all of the care and attention to detail that went into his development of The Lord of the Rings. With The Hobbit‘s Comic-Con panel coming up this Saturday, expect to see even more from the film soon.
