British stuntman James Grogan has one hell of a resume. He’s performed and coordinated stunts for Batman Begins, Sherlock Holmes, Kick-Ass, Dark Shadows and Snow White and the Huntsman, among others, but it’s his upcoming work on Thor: The Dark World

that has us really intrigued.

The guys at ComicBookMovie have astutely picked up on an interview with Grogan that has some interesting implications for Marvel and Thor fans everywhere.

Speaking about his experience shooting the movie, Grogan commented:

I had a load of stunt guys in and the director came in and he said Look, we want you all to be elves, and I was like What the hell is an elf anyway? and he said ‘I want you all to walk around like these supernatural animals’.

Elves, you say?! Now there are plenty of elves to choose from in the Marvel universe. Light Elves, Cat Elves, Ice Elves, but given the sequel’s new ‘dark’ movie title, it would seem the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim are the most probable. Fans of the comic will know the dark elves are ruled by bonafide Marvel supervillain Malekith the Accursed (below), who allies himself with Loki (played by a returning Tom Hiddleston) in Thor #344.

This is the best indication we’ve had so far as to who Thor will face in Thor: The Dark World, but anything could happen between now and the November 2013 release date. What do you think of Thor’s potential foe? Sound off in the comments!
