TV series set 20 years before Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island
Black Sails follows the maurauding misadventures of J. Flint (Toby Stephens), the pirate captain of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic adventure novel Treasure Island. Set twenty years prior to the events of the book, Black Sails forgoes the original's young protagonist, John Hawkins, and instead follows Flint's early corsair career as well as his developing professional relationship with John Silver (Luke Arnold).
Michael Bay executive produces the seafaring series which features a grand-scale landscape and budget on even grander scale. But what else is to be expected from the director of Transformers?
