Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence receive a marvelous score from the Oscar jury!

After spending four years in a mental institution, former teacher Pat Solitano (Bradley Cooper) moves back in with his parents (Jacki Weaver and Robert De Niro) and attempts reconciliation with his ex-wife. In order to get back at his estranged ex-spouse, he must rely on the help of young widow Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence). The deeply hurt woman demands only one thing: that Pat becomes her partner in a dancing contest!

Silver Linings Playbook is based on the novel by Matthew Quick. For director David O. Russell, it marks a return to the darkly comedic material with which he made his name in Hollywood. His most recent film was the successful boxer drama The Fighter which won Christian Bale his first Oscar. Chris Tucker co-stars as a friend of Cooper, a co-inmate, who keeps escaping from his mental institution. It’s his first film in five years (make that fifteen if you subtract all films)!

Jennifer Lawrence's great performance expectedly won her a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Leading Role.

Silver Linings Playbook is nominated for right Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Director (David O. Russell), Best Actor in a Leading Role (Bradley Cooper), Best Actress in a Leading Role (Jennifer Lawrence), Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Robert De Niro), Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Jacki Weaver), Best Original Screenplay and Best Editing.
