Spy Hunter

Zombieland director takes on this 80s arcade classic

Based on a 1980's video arcade game, this action-packed adventure follows former F-15 pilot Alex Decker as he joins a mysterious government organization called the International Espionage Services. Within this agency, he is drafted as a 'Spy Hunter' tasked with fighting a league of spies bent on world domination, all with the help of his Batmobile-style, ultra-futuristic car, the G-6155 Interceptor.

This long-gestating project has been on Universal Studio's back-burner since 2003, when they acquired the rights to the game. Dwayne Johnson was rumored to play the lead role, having lent his voice to the character in the rebooted PlayStation edition of the game, Spy Hunter: Nowhere to Run, released in 2006.
