As the #DCEU is slowly coming together, the upcoming release of Wonder Woman is raising expectations on plenty of fronts: First female superhero solo film for #DC, first live-action movie for the character on the big screen, and only the fourth installment of the DCEU after Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad.
Even in the polarizing Batman v Superman, #galgadot's #dianaprince a.k.a. Wonder Woman, was pretty much universally praised, so we can't wait to see her kick ass in her own movie before the #justiceleague teams up. If you too are a Wonder Woman fan, here's where you can get all the latest news and crazy theories about the movie ahead of its release. 'Wonder Woman' Trailer
We've now got three Wonder Woman trailers, the latest one being called "Origin" and featuring an extended look at Diana's upbringing on Themyscira.
The first Wonder Woman trailer was released at the 2016 Comic-Con, and while it's not revealing much in terms of story, we do get a great sense of the movie's feel — mainly, epic action scenes. Plus, after admiring Wonder Woman's bracelets in action in Batman v Superman, we also get to see how the rest of her iconic weapons work: sword, shield, and most importantly the Lasso of Truth.
'Wonder Woman' Release Date: When Is It Out?
The Wonder Woman release date is set on June 2, 2017 in the US and the UK, a few months before Justice League on November 17. A few countries such as Brazil and Russia will see the movie on June 1, but there will be no earlier release date — so no spoiler issues here!
'Wonder Woman' Plot: What's It About?
Set mainly during World War I, the Wonder Woman plot follows Diana, an Amazon princess who lives away from humanity on Themyscira, until the day a pilot named Steve Trevor crashes on the island. He's stolen the formula for a powerful chemical weapons, and warns the Amazons of "the war to end all wars." Trained for combat, she follows him back into the world of men whom the Amazon were once meant to protect — but her goodwill is going to be put to the test.
Her main enemy turns out to be not the humans involved in the conflict, but the god of War himself, Ares. A fierce enemy of the Amazons and of Zeus, whom Diana believes to be her father, he could be the one to have instigated the whole war. And while Wonder Woman isn't one to shy away from fighting a god, the battle will definitely leave her with more scars than she expected to get.
