The tragic tale of Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire is doomed to go on, as has finally greenlit A Series of Unfortunate Events Season 2. The first season covered the first four books in Lemony Snicket's beloved children's series by the same name. Writer Daniel Handler (aka the real ) says that the next season is slated to cover books 5 through 9: The Austere Academy, The Ersatz Elevator, The Vile Village, The Hostile Hospital, and The Carnivorous Carnival.

After narrowly escaping from Count Olaf's clutches for the fourth time, the charming, clever and resourceful Baudelaire orphans are about to begin a new chapter of their lives at Prufrock Preparatory Academy. It would be too much to hope for that the children might have loving, supportive scholastic atmosphere to make up for all the tragedy that's befallen them, but they are about to make the acquaintance of two new intelligent youngsters like themselves: Isadora and Duncan Quagmire.
