He is the first one most people think about when the word #spy is mentioned. He is the one that never gets old. He is Bond, James Bond, the man better known as Agent 007.
Through the years we’ve seen new spies bless the action screen, names like Ethan Hunt and #JasonBourne, but here are seven reasons why James Bond is the spy who always comes out on top.

1. 26 Movies And We Still Love Him
James Bond was created by British author and former spy, Ian Fleming in the 1950s. Since 1962, Agent 007 has been portrayed by seven actors, most recently by #DanielCraig. Even after 26 movies the character has stayed relevant and has sparked a fandom that unites generations. #JamesBond movies never get old and I wouldn’t be surprised if the franchise continues for another 50 years.
(For sense of relevancy, from now on I’m referring to Daniel Craig’s interpretation of the Bond character.)
2. His Style Is Incomparable
One of the main reasons why James Bond has stayed relevant through the years is because of his unique style. From the way he dresses, to the way he speaks, to the way he handles his guns, Bond does it like no other.
Bond’s style is elegant at its core and even when he is about to die, he tries to do so in style (check out the clip above).
3. The Ladies Love Him And He Loves The Ladies
James Bond has immense respect for women. In Casino Royale, when Vesper Lynd (Eva Green) first witnessed Bond killing a man who was trying to kill her, she went into shock. To calm her down he gave her a hug while both washed away the assassin’s blood from their bodies (see clip above). By the end of #CasinoRoyale, Vesper Lynd had betrayed Bond, but even after her betrayal he tried to save her from herself.
In Quantum of Solace, he committed to help Camille Montes (Olga Kurylenko) in her personal vendetta against a Bolivian general, even after she tried to kill Bond.
Plus, Bond is a sex symbol, but you already knew that.
4. Family And Country
Bond is an orphan and in MI6 he found a family in his team and M (Judi Dench). She may be his boss, but Bond sees her as a mother, protecting her until the very end.
She was even the reason why he returned to MI6 in Skyfall after being in hiding for many years. His country was in danger, but his mother was the direct kill target. He was going to do what he does best, protect and serve.
5. He Is Not Perfect
The best part about Bond is his humanity. Unlike Ethan Hunt in the #MissionImpossible movies, James Bond and #JasonBourne hold a sense of realism. But in comparison to Bourne, Bond shows more humanity. In Bourne we see a man who primarily acts to serve his own interests, the plot solely revolves around him.
Bond on the other hand shows compassion and in the movies we even see his personal struggles as well as him trying to fix them, which ultimately makes the audience better connect with the character.
Even when he is fighting or in direct competition with an opponent, we sometimes see him lose (see clip above), which is something that Jason Bourne rarely does.
6. Parkour Is His Second Form Of Transportation
If there's one movie that has displayed great shots of parkour it's Casino Royale. After failing to capture the enemy, Bond chased after him through the streets of Madagascar in beautiful free-running action. The makers of #AssassinsCreed would be wise to take notes from James Bond.
7. He Has The Best Theme Songs
Adele’s "Skyfall" and Sam Smith’s "Writings on the Wall" have received many awards, with both songs even receiving the Academy Award for Best Song. "Skyfall" received a Grammy and many fans consider the song to be the best in the Bond franchise along with Shirley Bassey’s "Diamonds are Forever."
In addition to these contemporary songs, the original Bond theme composed by Monty Norman is considered to be one of greatest theme songs in cinema history.
