We all know the name Stan Lee: the co-creator of great heroes (Spider-Man, Iron Man, the Fantastic Four- just to name a few) and the former chairman of the Marvel company. However, unlike many great creators, Stan wasn't happy just staying on the sidelines. Stan Lee has been making amazing cameos from as early as 1989, and with each Marvel film released, fans eagerly await to play the game 'Spot Stan Lee'. So, just because this man is totally awesome (for what other reason would you need to write about Stan Lee?) , I've compiled a list of his 10 most amazing and unforgettable cameos.
10) Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
I don't want to know why Stan was on a train to who-knows-where with two young women. However, he really does give Agent Coulson the old one-two when he overhears Agent Simmons arguing with the senior agent (who is playing the role of the disappointed and grieving daughter.)
9) Fantastic Four : Rise of the Silver Surfer
It's so sad when you say you're someone and they don't believe you. Well, that's what happened to Stan when he tried to get into the wedding of Reed Richards and Susan Storm, claiming he was Stan Lee and that he should be on the guest list (and rightly so). Sadly, the bouncer didn't believe him. They should treat him with a bit more respect — he did create The Fantastic Four after all!
8) Iron Man
In Iron Man, Tony Stark confused the famous Stan Lee with equally famous Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, thanks to Stan's robe and arm candy. Stan fails to correct Tony's mistake while holding a rather characteristic pipe.
7) Guardians of the Galaxy
It seems that as time passes, Stan Lee become even more of a lady's man! In Guardians of the Galaxy, the Marvel film that's had the greatest soundtrack by far (being honest here), we see Stan with another young attractive woman on his arm. Rocket Racoon not so subtly calls Stan a "class A creeper" — I'll let you guys decide if he's right.
6) X-Men: The Last Stand
Back in 2006, when Jean Grey was causing massive chaos on her street, we caught a rare glimpse of Stan Lee in a mundane moment, watering his lawn. Sadly, it didn't last very long: Dark Phoenix finally decided to let her powers only only a few houses away and causing gravity to go whack.
5) Captain America: The First Avenger
In Captain America: The First Avenger, Stan didn't look at all out of place in his US military uniform covered in badges. However, Lee cannot help but sound disappointed when he mistakes the man speaking to the president for Steve Rogers, exclaiming that he thought Cap would be taller. I hope after that little mishap, the general got to see the actual Cap in all his glory.
4) Captain America: Civil War
Just as Rhodey promised to never let the great Tony Stark forget this moment, fans around the world will never forget Lee's funniest cameo. As things seemed particularly bleak for the Avengers at the end of Civil War, and most of the Earth's mightiest warriors were out of commission, Stan Lee was just what the scene (and the Avengers) needed.
3) The Amazing Spider-Man
Having officially (and unsurprisingly) confessed to the world that Spider-Man is his favourite character, it would be sacrilege not to put Stan's phenomenal cameo in The Amazing Spider-Man on this list. Although I never thought of Stan being a fan of classical music, he really does make this scene web-slinger worthy (or does the web-slinger and music make the scene Stan Lee worthy?)
As you've probably realised by now, Stan's roles in the Marvel universe always act to either diffuse the tension, or to give certain scenes a more comical feel. Over the years, the masterful comic creator has played multiple roles, but his appearance as an strip club emcee in Deapool is (appropriately) the raunchiest.
1) Big Hero 6
To this day, some fans of the Disney hit Big Hero 6 are unaware of the fact that the animated wonder is actually based on a Marvel comic of the same name. So don't worry if, after the film's spectacular finale, you didn't wait for Marvel's characteristic post-credits scene (your excused this time, ONLY). It turns out that in this mysterious after credits scene Stan , and his love for superheroes, make a particularly surprising appearance as Fred's mysterious rich father. This is, by far, one of Stan Lee's most unforgettable and unexpected cameos as yet created, see for yourself!

The Marvel universe has already left its mark in cinematic history with "demi-god(s); a super soldier, a living legend who kind of lives up to the legend; a man with breath-taking anger management issues; a couple of master assassins" and delinquent web slingers, but Marvel has also left its mark on the hearts of all its fans. They make us all weep and cheer for our heroes, really making us part of their adventure, and it wouldn't be a Marvel adventure without a little Stan Lee cameo hide-and-seek! With so many movies in Marvel's future, who knows where else Stan Lee might (unexpectedly) appear?
