(12 Years A Slave) may have lost out to at the Golden Globes last night, but he might just have himself one hell of a consolation prize in the works. It's been rumored that the actor would have a role in ' upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens. When Yahoo! recently asked him about this huge opportunity, he coyly shrugged them off. But he didn't exactly say no either. His exact response?
"Who knows? We'll just have to see. I don't know is really the only answer I can give you. I'm a huge fan of that world and JJ, but I don't know. I can't tell you."
Hmmm. He may be evading because his deal is still pending. In fact, given that Abrams is involved, I wouldn't rule Ejiofor out even if he definitively said, "no way, I'll never do a Star Wars film." It would be such a feather in Episode VII's cap if they could sign Ejiofor. The guy is an amazing actor and has already proven what a fantastic presence he can be in a big studio sci-fi movie. He was the villain in the film version of Firefly: Serenity.
What do you guys think?
