Thirteen Ghosts had some great effects (from Walking Dead gore experts KNB FX) that brought memorable ghosts like The Angry Princess and The Jackal to life. Despite what several critics have to say about it, fans adore Thirteen Ghosts, and a big part of this is the carefully-wrought mythology that the film is built around. The story of each ghost's background is touched upon in Thirteen Ghosts, but the demands of storytelling meant that many of the details were glossed over.

Luckily for us, the Thirteen Ghosts DVD comes with a super-cool extra: a 13-minute feature unraveling the personal stories of the ghosts, narrated by Kriticos himself, F. Murray Abraham.

On the DVD, it's presented as an interactive feature, where the user delves into the Kriticos library and takes things from shelves to learn about specific characters: the video assembles each back story for the sake of brevity.

It's cool to learn more about these fascinating characters, and the stories really flesh out the story development. For example, The Angry Princess is a striking figure, but knowing her tortured back story about her low self-esteem, self-harm and suicide really adds depth to her character.
