Notorious shitbag Joffrey Baratheon gave us a mega-satisfying death on Game of Thrones. So fabulous was his terrible reign and violent death that actor Jack Gleeson quit acting immediately after Game of Thrones. It's impossible to peak harder than Joffrey writhing, purple and asphyxiating on the cold, hard ground.
Still, Jack Gleeson gamely makes appearances at GoT-related events, and overjoyed fans at the 2016 NYCC by turning up to answer questions. One fan asked him who he thought would end up on the Iron Throne by the end of Game of Thrones, and Gleeson had a neat reply:
"This isn’t a spoiler because I know zero about the show, but someone came up with this theory that they told me at a convention recently that someone’s gonna melt down the Iron Throne ’cause it has the Valyrian steel that would overcome the White Walkers. I think that’s a cool idea that the monarchy is literally dissolved; it’s a cool analogy."
