Since the apparent end to Adam Green's Hatchet franchise in 2013, fans have long wanted to see more of Victor Crowley. Green and company were set to hold a tenth anniversary celebration for the franchise at Hollywood's ArcLight Cinema, where fans were going to watch the first Hatchet film, but Green had other ideas.

During the film's introduction, Green introduced a new film instead of the original movie, Victor Crowley, the fourth installment of the franchise.

The very social Green loves to share everything with his fans, but he managed to keep this entire project under wraps. His production company, ArieScope Pictures, teamed with Dark Sky Films to bring fans the new installment.

Fans have another horror legend to thank for the rebirth of this slasher franchise: the late George A. Romero. At a convention in October of 2015, the legendary Romero urged Green to bring back Victor Crowley, and the rest is history.

icon Kane Hodder has returned to wield the hatchet (and possibly a belt sander, a very large chainsaw and anything else he can get his hands on) as Victor Crowley. The film also stars Hatchet alum Perry Shen as well as Laura Ortiz (Holliston), David Sheridan (Scary Movie) and Brian Quinn (Impractical Jokers).

The plot for Victor Crowley reads:

Andrew Yong (Shen) has spent over a decade claiming that local legend Victor Crowley was responsible for the deaths of the forty-nine people killed in the original trilogy of films. Yong’s allegations have been met with widespread disbelief, but when a twist of fate puts him back at the scene of the tragedy, Crowley is mistakenly resurrected and Yong must face the bloodthirsty ghost from his past.

Where will you be able to view Green's secret love child? This October he is taking it on the road as a part of the "Victor Crowley Road Show."

What are your thoughts on a new installment of the Hatchet franchise?
