Periods of human history are often defined by the culture and art we create: The classical antiquity of the Renaissance, the eclectic style of early 20th century Art Deco, the rebellious nature of 19th century impressionism. All these things defined a generation. And what about the present day? Well, it looks like the current artistic vogue involves combining sharks with terrible natural disasters.
The success of Sharknado has predictably sired some extremely quickly thrown together imitators. Let me introduce Avalanche Sharks - a new movie which combines sharks with, yep you guessed it, an avalanche. I have no idea why the movie is not called Sharkalanche. Check the trailer below:
Just in case the subtle subtext of the trailer went over your head, here's the synopsis:
After a horrific avalanche, the staff at Twin Pines Ski Resort starts to receive reports of missing people and creatures that move beneath the snow. As the body count piles up, the management tries to cover up the situation, which leads to disaster on their busiest day of the year: Bikini Snow Day.
What do you think? Do you like these low-budget horrors, or have they reached their peak?
