Even with cockswain (pirate talk for helmsman) set to direct, it seems like a rogue role for Bardem who normally errs towards complex and existential baddies; such as his roles in No Country For Old Men and Skyfall.
Indiewire have provided details on the (Ice Age: Continental Drift) script, which reveals:
That it'll follow an orphan who gets sent to Neverland, saves the natives, fights the pirates and basically becomes a hero.
This could either prove to be genius casting or a bit of a mis-fire. What do you think? Should Bardem accept the role?
