Details are slowly spilling out ahead of American Horror Story's seventh season premiere, but series creator Ryan Murphy is trying to keep a few secrets hidden. The series is known for its star-studded cast over the years, and Cult will be no different. Now rumors are swirling that it may feature an appearance from pop superstar, Cher.
Cher, who is the mother of already confirmed cast member Chaz Bono, would be the latest to the list of fellow singers who have made appearances on the show including Adam Levine, Stevie Nicks, Patti Labelle and Lady Gaga. The Goddess of Pop has quite a few acting roles under her belt and has even been awarded numerous awards, including an Oscar.
The chance of seeing Cher in a small role on a super-popular #horror series is certainly not out of the realm of possibility, especially with her son involved. Cher even tweeted about a "surprise project," mentioning the first week of September, which coincides with Cult's release week.
The cast and crew recently went on a group outing to attend a Cher concert in Las Vegas. Many took to social media to document the fun event, most notably Colton Haynes, #BillieLourd and #SarahPaulson.
A photo has also been circling of cast members' chairs on set, which eagle-eyed fans claim to include one designated for "Cher," but the photo is extremely blurry. We'll just have to wait and see if she appears. If the history of this show proves anything, it's that #RyanMurphy definitely has plenty of tricks up his sleeve.
American Horror Story: Cult premieres September 5th on FX.
