The seventh season of American Horror Story is only months away, and we can't wait to see what kind of horror Ryan Murphy has in store for us this year. The hit anthology series has often relied on theatricality but, after a deviation in tone with last year's Roanoke, who knows what to expect when Season 7 begins in the fall?

Murphy has already provided fans of the series with a look at a terrifying new elephant monster that will feature in Season 7, but it appears that the creator has more than one tormented demon up his sleeve. The showrunner took to Instagram this week to give viewers a look at another creepy creature and one thing's for sure: we won't be sleeping tonight. Check it out below:

As you can see, this creature is arguably even scarier than the elephant monster and it definitely gives us vibes. The series creator has yet to confirm if Season 7 will be tied to any of the previous instalments of American Horror Story, but with a Murder House/Coven crossover in the works, it could be possible that the groundwork will be laid during Season 7.

There is little time left before Season 7 hits screens and despite being highly anticipated, we still know very little about it. has confirmed that Season 7 will focus on the 2016 presidential election and, while Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump may appear, they will not be significant to the storyline.

Moreover, Murphy has also confirmed that AHS regulars and will return and Peters has already been spotted on set sporting several different hair colors — one of them reminiscent of his X-Men character.

In addition, comedian Billy Eichner, Scream Queens actress Billie Lourd, Popular's Leslie Grossman and Arrow's Colton Haynes will all be joining the cast for the seventh season and there has even been speculation that Lady Gaga will turn up for another role.

American Horror Story is no stranger to creepy creatures, having already shocked viewers with Murder House's Rubber Man, Asylum's Bloody Face, Coven's minotaur, Freak Show's Twisty the Clown and Hotel's addiction demon — but this new monster could be the freakiest of them all. While we still know very little about the storyline for Season 7, there's no denying that we're already terrified, and who knows what horror Murphy has in store for us this year?
