It's bed time for Alec Baldwin after the 30 Rock star was dropped as host of Up Late with Alec Baldwin by MSNBC. Baldwin's fall from grace is due to the homophobic remarks he made to a photographer earlier this month. While the official line from the network is the split was "mutual", a source has claimed it was a decision from the top to remove Baldwin, admitting "He's gone…. The Comcast guys have decided."
The problem stemmed from inappropriate comments Baldwin made when dealing with a paparazzo when he called him a "c—s—ing faggot." Baldwin tried to make amends afterwards by apologizing and admitting that "behavior like this undermines hard-fought rights that I vigorously support" but it was too late for him to save his job.
The Blue Jasmine star is currently filming a movie in Hawaii.
What are your thoughts on this whole affair? Was it right for Baldwin to be fired?
