After having a bit of a box office bomb with the absolutely fantastic Children of Men, it seems as if is finally having a deserving moment in the spotlight with his sci-fi epic, Gravity. It's currently one of the best reviewed movies of the year, currently sitting at 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. You should go see it. Really. Someone else who's having a moment is , who Cuaron worked with on Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. He may be trying to shake his Potter image, but Cuaron recently talked about how he'd like to reunite with the actor with HuffPo. Take a look:
HuffPo: My next interview after this is with Daniel Radcliffe, so it's like a "Prisoner of Azkaban" reunion for me.
Cuaron: Here in New York?
Cuaron: Send my love to the bastard.
HuffPo: "The bastard"?
Cuaron: Send my love to him.
HuffPo: And include the word "bastard"?
Cuaron: Say, "to the amazing bastard" [laughs] ... I am so full of admiration on how he's handling his career. I'm so filled with admiration for him. He's so smart and has amazing taste.
HuffPo: You two should do another movie together.
Cuaron: I would love to do something with him again. I'm a big fan, man. In your article you can quote me, because he's one actor I would love to work with again.
Cuaron has said that he wants his next movie to be a cerebral horror flick, something that could work really well for Radcliffe. As the NYTimes profile pointed out, he has a gothic quality to him. Since scrapped plans to make At the Mountains of Madness, in my dream world Cuaron would pick it up and make it with Radcliffe.
