J.C. Chandor (Margin Call), who is currently making waves with the one--against-the-elements adventure All Is Lost, has found himself a new project.

The filmmaker will write and possibly direct a biopic about hard-as-nails coaching legend Vince Lombardo who led the Green Bay Packers to five NFL championships and their first two Super Bowl titles.

Before tackling the sports biopic, however, will first direct and in A Most Violent Year. To which I may add: what a cast!

I don’t know jack about football history but I am a sucker for underdog sports dramas of any type. Hell, if they’d make a picture about a disabled dressage rider overcoming the odds, I’d be there on the first weekend.

And Candor’s Lombardo pic certainly has the right ingredients for something much, much more alluring.
