There are several reasons why one could feel inclined to watch the trailer for All Is Lost, and, subsequently, the movie itself.

One would be that the survival drama got great reviews when it premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. Another that you enjoyed director 's first movie, Margin Call so much that you want to know what the young filmmaker is up to next. You could also just be a sucker for a good (near dialogue-free) survival drama on the high seas - with or without tiger or painted volleyball.

My personal reason: All Is Lost apparently showcases in all his old-school screen icon glory. I don't know in how many more films Redford's going to play the lead, but this seems to be downright Redford porn.

I am all for it!
