If one could put a fine point on the definitive style of directors and , it would have to center on their uncanny ability to take projects that by all rights should not exist and turn them into surprise gems. I direct you to the picture book they crafted into one of the best animated films in recent memory: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Or how about that forgotten TV drama series 21 Jump Street? Was anyone expecting THAT movie to be among the top comedies of 2012?

The cache they've earned has totally assuaged all cynicism I might have harbored against The LEGO Movie. That said, today's second trailer for the film is actually the first I've seen, and I have to say, I am all kinds of in for it. It's not CG as much as an epic stop-motion effort, which is tremendous! Also, the voice talent assembled (, , , , ) is staggering. Further dizzying is the number of geek properties represented in the film in Lego form. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Tron: Legacy, and what appears to be a goodly portion of the DC universe all turn up throughout the course of the trailer.

This one looks like it will be an absolute blast!

Take a look and tell us what you think!
