A lot of people have been wondering what up-and-coming sci-fi director has penciled in on his calendar for the future, now that current project Oblivion is hitting theaters, oh, right about now. Kosinski had remained pretty tight-lipped about it at WonderCon last month, but we've finally gotten official word on what his next project will be.

As it turns out, Kosinski won't be sticking to the silver screen but will be tackling a new television series for AMC. Deadline reports that the network is moving forward with development for futuristic drama Ballistic City, which Kosinski is set to helm.

The premise of the series, which will be penned by Pacific Rim's , sounds pretty cool. Think a mash-up of Blade Runner and Battlestar Galactica, the show will follow a former cop as he dives into the criminal underworld of a city that is contained within a colossal generational spaceship on a voyage to an unknown universe.

I have no idea what that would look like, but it sounds amazing. There's no word yet on when we might expect to see this on television, but AMC has indicated they see this as being a companion to The Walking Dead. Considering they already have someone busy with the script and have landed their director, expect to see news of casting and the project moving into production sooner rather than later. And of course, if you're as intrigued by this premise as I am, click [[follow]] and we'll keep you up to date on all the latest Ballistic City news.
