In December, #AmySchumer made headlines when she confirmed she'd be starring in #Sony's live-action #Barbie movie. Twitter worked itself into a frenzy flinging all the body-shaming it could muster in Schumer's direction, and the comedian clapped back at the haters like a seasoned pro. But now it seems that all that drama may have been for nothing, as Schumer just announced she won't be Barbie, after all.
The comedian told Variety:
"Sadly, I’m no longer able to commit to Barbie due to scheduling conflicts. The film has so much promise, and Sony and Mattel have been great partners. I’m bummed, but look forward to seeing Barbie on the big screen."
Those scheduling conflicts include the promotional tour for Schumer's upcoming Fox comedy Snatched, as well as a promotional shoot for the movie She Came to Me, which Schumer stars in opposite Steven Carrel.

Mattel is already hard at work cranking out merch for the #BarbieMovie, so Sony is pretty set on sticking to their original release date of June 29, 2018.
There's no word yet on who will replace Schumer as the Barbie cast out of Dreamland and into the real world, but we've got a few suggestions:
After over a decade of The Big Bang Theory, Kaley Cuoco is officially sitcom royalty. No doubt she'd be able to bring the same comedic timing and ample LOLs to the movie as Schumer would have.
Like Schumer, Rebel Wilson doesn't have the classic plastic Barbie figure, but she's one of the top queens of comedy around today. She'd be a great choice to star in a body-positive Barbie adventure.
You probably know Bloom from her many misadventures as Rebecca Bunch on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Her knack for subverting stereotypical movie tropes and making people laugh would go a long way in an off-beat Barbie comedy.
Who do you want to see play Barbie in the live-action movie?
