I'm a good bowler, and a good man.

A Jimi Hendrix guitar solo in the middle of 'Hey Ya!' would have been the best thing ever. It's not gonna happen, but this September, we have something just as good coming up.

(Andre 3000 to you and me) is to play Jimi Hendrix in biopic Jimi: All Is by My Side. Casting coup, right? The godfather of guitar and a veritable musical legend will be portrayed by the man behind the better half (in my opinion) of Speakerboxx/The Love Below, who also once dated Erykah Badu (a power-couple I wish still existed!)

And here's the first still from the project, shown off by the organisers of the Toronto International Film Festival. Doesn't show off much, but Mr 3000 looks like a good Hendrix, agree?

Here's a synopsis:

"Jimmy James, an unknown backup guitarist, left New York City for London, England in 1966. A year later he returned — as Jimi Hendrix. All Is By My Side brings authenticity and poignancy to the story of the man behind the legend, and of the people who loved and inspired him." __

How does everyone feel? Could the man from OutKast make a splash with the Academy this Winter in Jimi: All Is by My Side? A Toronto premiere and fall release date are usually good signifiers, as are biopics. Get in touch below!
