Now, the ancient Greek philosopher Heraclitus was famed for once revealing that "ever-newer waters flow on those who step into the same rivers." In other words? "You can't go home again," and if you do, everything will have changed. Heraclitus, though, was never faced with the sheer, willful determination of producers to remake every last thing that we ever collectively loved — nor with Hollywood stars' willingness to retread their most iconic roles in order to make a quick buck or two.

Even with that in mind, though, it seemed unlikely that , one-time (and recipient of a good ol' fashioned "bum's rush" from once the studio decided it was through with franchise), would ever don Spidey's iconic red and blue costume again. After all, if anyone had good cause to be a little bitter about how the /Sony deal to bring Spider-Man to the MCU went down, it's Garfield. And yet...

Andrew Garfield Will Apparently Dress Up As Spider-Man For Small Bills

That, at least, is the suggestion of that there promo for last night's episode of , in which Garfield is revealed to be spending much of his time hanging out on Hollywood Blvd. dressed as Spidey.

Or, y'know, he might just have been filming a promo spot for the show.

Either way, though, if you've been hoping to hire Garfield to play Spider-Man at your next birthday party, now may well be the time. After all, there's always the slight chance he'll think it's part of a skit for SNL, or some sort of Ashton Kutcher-orchestrated prank, and actually do it. Sure, it wouldn't be quite as cool as if you somehow talked new Spider-Man Tom Holland into showing up, but at least Garfield can legally drink in the US.

And hey, it's pretty much guaranteed to work out better than inviting Tobey Maguire:
