Now, because it's March (and in March you tell the truth, apparently), let me say, without hope or agenda, that #AndrewLincoln has returned to the role that made him vaguely recognizable to US audiences, long before he ever brutally destroyed a murderous walker in #TheWalkingDead.
Yup, that's right, #LoveActually is back, and this time, it's a short sequel for the UK's annual Red Nose Day celebration. Which, sure, isn't exactly the #LoveActually2 everyone's one Hugh Grant-obsessed friend was hoping for, but it's still an actual, factual Love Actually spin-off (titled #RedNoseDayActually, actually), featuring #RickGrimes himself, that is on its way to our screens in the not-so-distant future. And, notably:
To Us, Andrew Lincoln Is Perfect In This New 'Love Actually' Sequel Trailer
Or, at least, he's perfectly Rick Grimes. Y'see, one of the stranger byproducts of the Love Actually sequel coming in the form of a short charity event is that its stars don't, for the most part, seem to have been able to change all that much from their day jobs.
Which, of course, means that Andrew Lincoln looks remarkably like Rick Grimes in the video below, even while reenacting that card-carrying scene. Y'know, the one that's both monumentally romantic and massively, massively creepy, and would absolutely have led a real-life version of #KeiraKnightley's character to never speak to the guy again. And yet, here Lincoln is, being all adorable and haggard and post-apocalyptic:
Whether the actual sequel will feature a reprise of that somewhat surprisingly iconic scene, however (it seems reasonable to assume that it won't, if only because it'll only be 10 minutes long), very much remains to be seen. We'll find out for sure on March 24 when both Red Nose Day and, presumably, an uploaded video of the sequel hit our screens.
No word yet on whether or not those carol singers will finally turn up, though.
What do you think? Was Lincoln's card-carrying move in Love Actually super creepy, or super sweet? Let us know below!
