The downside of celebrities who constantly update their social media is that it can be hard to decipher what is an official statement and what falls more under the category of wishful thinking.

Case in point, 's latest quip about coming on to direct the big screen version of Kojak. Diesel is one of the most socially engaged movie stars online, and the prospect of his stepping into ' 1970s TV detective's shoes has been looming for a while, but when asked on Facebook what director he'd most like to work with, Diesel intriguingly quipped...

"Kojak… New York… Ang Lee…"

Of course, it's hard to say for sure whether that is just his aspiration or if he knows for a fact Lee will be directing. However, it seems weird for him to deliver this specific an answer to so generic a question. For argument sake, let's assume Ang Lee is directing. There's not really anything in the filmmaker's body of work that would suggest to me that he is apt for this gig. That being said, I still think the only reason Diesel is the frontrunner for the role is that he (like the great Savalas) is bald...that and the whole, you know, Fast & Furious box office draw.

What do you guys think?
