With a whole year to kill before Game of Thrones Season 7, the rumor mill has been running full speed trying to churn out some good gossip to keep us entertained during the off season. The latest ravens brought whisperings that the one and only Dame Angela Lansbury might just be moving to Westeros— but, tragically, reps for the Bedknobs & Broomsticks star just squashed that rumor like the Mountain squashed Prince Oberyn's face.

Seriously, how cool would this have been?

The rumor began on a German news website called Das Bild, which has been known to publish utter Scheiße from time to time. But who can blame us for glomming onto one shred of hope that after so many deaths, so much heartache, we might be be able to welcome a new heroine of such status into our hearts and HBO's GoT?

Alas, it's time to relinquish the dream of Lansbury scheming with the Lannisters. This is not the first time our hearts have been left broken by the sharp yet fickle whir of the rumor mill.

3 Old Game Of Thrones Rumors We Wish Had Been True

Game Of Thrones: The Movie

How amazing would a GoT movie be? Especially one about Robert's Rebellion? A British tabloid paper published this statement, claiming it came from George R.R. Martin himself, which sent the rumor mill spinning:

"There will be a movie but I will not be involved. I have too much to do. That is something HBO and D.B. and David are dealing with. I have two more books to finish and I still have so much to do."

Then, the real Martin told the Daily Star that that was totally false:

"Yes, completely false. No one is working on any movie just now. And if there was a movie, it would not be about Robert's Rebellion."

Book fans have waited with baited breath for six seasons to watch their beloved Lady Stoneheart — the ghost of Catelyn Stark — resurrect and wreak havoc through Westeros. Sophie Turner teased that it could happen, and some creative viewers even theorized that it already has happened. But sadly, with only thirteen episodes remaining, it seems that there's no way they could possibly fit Catelyn Stark's return in now.

The Return Of Khal Drogo

Two weeks ago, Jason Mamoa (formerly known as Khal Drogo) posted this photo of him, dripping in Guinness next to Benioff and Weiss in Dublin:

The connection was tenuous at best, but none the less, we fans couldn't help but speculate on a Drogo resurrection that didn't leave him like a vegetable. Beyond bumping in to one another at the Guinness Factory, there's no official casting announcement or news of Momoa having been spotted on set for Season 7.

Of course, just because this particular photo doesn't mean anything yet, a Mamoa return isn't totally out of the question. He probably won't be back alive, likely not in a flashback since Game of Thrones has never done flashbacks before. What's more likely is that he might appear in a vision like the one Daenerys experienced in the House of the Undying, or maybe he'll even appear to Bran via greensight. Anything's possible!
