Renowned actor, filmmaker and philanthropist Angelina Jolie may be in the midst of a divorce, but she's already got her next gig lined up. The icon is set to be the face of Mon Guerlain, a new fragrance from French perfumer Guerlain. And the best part is, she's donating all her earnings to charity.

The fragrance will launch in March, and Jolie has pledged to donate every cent she makes from the campaign to a charity of her choosing. The exact number she'll receive from Guerlain is still unknown, but it's worth noting that her 2011 Louis Vuitton advertisement was worth $10 million.

This incredible act of charity is hardly out of character for Jolie. She's been successfully balancing her roles of Hollywood idol and humanitarian for years now. The UNHCR Special Envoy has committed countless hours — and dollars — to help alleviate global poverty, promote important social causes and campaign for human rights.

Hollywood Gives Back

Jolie's gesture is inspiring, but she's not the first to donate a vast majority of her earnings to a good cause. Did you know about these celebrities' charitable endeavours?

1. Amber Heard

In 2016, Amber Heard filed for divorce from then-husband Johnny Depp. It was soon discovered that Heard had accused Depp of verbally and physically abusing her, claiming that she had kept the abuse under wraps due to Depp's celebrity status and high-profile career.

Despite producing photographic evidence and witnesses, Depp's fans absolutely tore her to shreds. They accused her of falsifying her allegations against Depp for financial gain.

A few months later, Heard was indeed granted a whopping sum of $7 million from the divorce settlement. Then, in the greatest gesture of both defiance and altruism ever, she split the sum in half and donated the entire amount to two different charities: the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and the American Civil Liberties Union, the latter of which helps women suffering from domestic violence. What was that about "gold digging"?

2. 'The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus' Cast

After Heath Ledger passed away in the midst of filming The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, a number of his talented friends stepped forward to help finish the film: Colin Farrell, Johnny Depp and Jude Law. After filming wrapped, the three actors gave all their earnings to Ledger's young daughter, Matilda. Apparently Ledger's will had not been up-to-date, meaning there was no mention of her and thus no inheritance. The donation will help to make up for what Matilda missed out on due to the outdated will.

Keanu Reeves

There's been reports of Keanu Reeves' philanthropy circulating for years now, though apparently one of those stories wasn't quite as accurate as we all thought. Aside from his usual charity work, Reeves had allegedly given $80 million of his pay from The Matrix sequels to the film's makeup and special effects crew.

The staff themselves have since denied this and cleared up the confusion. Apparently, he'd diverted his earnings from ticket sales back into the franchise in order to increase its special effects budget, which meant the staff could keep their jobs and have guaranteed work from the movies for years. While not quite the act of charity we first thought it was, it definitely had some positive consequences.

What do you think about Angelina Jolie's philanthropy?
