Rumors that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's relationship was on the rocks have plagued the couple for years, but now it seems the couple really are parting ways for the final time as reports have emerged that Angelina has filed for divorce.
The pair, who have been together for over a decade and married just two years ago, are allegedly separating due to conflicts over their children. TMZ reports that Jolie filed legal papers for divorce on Monday.
While friends of the family insist that there isn't a third person involved in the divorce (that's an affair, to you and I), it seems like the separation could get messy due to the complexities of who gains custody over their six children.
According to the gossip site TMZ, who also broke the news, Angelina doesn't want Brad to have joint physical custody (where the children could go to stay with him at his residence) and has instead only asked a judge to grant Brad visitation rights. He will also have joint legal custody of their brood.
A mysterious source close to the couple has given a cryptic statement citing Brad's "parenting" as the reason behind the high-profile split:
Brad has spoken out in the past about his own strict upbringing and how it stunted his development, but it's unclear if this is a case of history repeating itself or a more lackluster method of parenting that has upset Angelina.
Neither Pitt nor Jolie has made an official statement about the split so fans will have to wait and see if the reports are true, but this time, sadly, it seems like the information is legitimate.
Do you think that Brad and Angelina have split for real this time?
