The fourth film in is coming. Annabelle: Creation tells the story of how the Annabelle doll came to be, and Warner Bros. has released a new trailer for the movie:

The official synopsis reads:

Several years after the tragic death of their little girl, a doll maker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home. They soon become the target of the doll maker’s possessed creation, Annabelle.

Directed by David F. Sanberg from a script by Gary Dauberman, the film stars Anthony LaPaglia, Stephanie Sigman, Miranda Otto and Alicia Vela-Bailey.

Originally titled Annabelle 2, this prequel focuses on the creation of the doll from The Conjuring. The title serves a double meaning, as it refers to not only the creation of the doll but also the themes of demonic possession and the presence of a religious character. The film will also set up next year's with Stephanie Sigman's character.

Annabelle: Creation will hit theaters on August 11, 2017.
