Every superhero movie needs an evil scientist/genetic engineer/man in a white coat, so it should come as no surprise that Captain America: The Winter Soldier will see the return of Dr. Arnim Zola. , who played the scheming biochemist last time round, has recently confirmed that he's back on board for the sequel.
Check out this interview with the British actor, who also talks about his recent award-winning role in the excellent Berberian Sound Studio. Skip to 3:50 if you just want the Cap news:
So, what can we expect from the good doctor when he returns for the sequel? In The First Avenger, Zola ran experiments using the Tesseract to power his inventions, before being later caught by Steve Rogers and giving up the location of the final HYDRA stronghold. That doesn't really give us many clues about what role he will play in The Winter Soldier though.
Perhaps he'll only be used in flashbacks, or maybe he'll get an extended storyline and we'll get to see the fruits of his experiments. Could his villainous creations Primus, Doughboy, and Man-Fish make an appearance?
What do you guys think? Will Zola get an extended role in The Winter Soldier? Would you like to see more of the character or don't you care? Unleash your inner fanboy and use the comment box below.
