This post contains spoilers for Season 5 of Arrow.
Season 5 of #Arrow is drawing to a close, and on May 24th, the flashbacks to Oliver's time on the island and around the world will wrap up. For five years, we've watched as he Hood become the #GreenArrow and a vigilante became a hero. And we're about to see the last of Oliver's journey.
When Season 1 premiered, we saw a bedraggled #OliverQueen with disheveled hair and a long beard on Lian Yu. After firing a flaming arrow, he's rescued and returned to his family. Thus begins his evolution to the hero he has become today. Viewers have never forgotten the moment that created this character, and it looks like we're going to be taken back to the place, the time, and the emotional moment when it all began.
According to executive producer Wendy Mericle, the season finale is bringing Oliver full circle:
“We’ve managed to hopefully stick the landing on it in a cool way that allows us to see both some of the moments right before we first met Oliver in the pilot, where he launched that flaming arrow and it lit up that signal fire, and also maybe a little bit after as well, some of the more emotional moments that we never got to see in the pilot.”

And lest we think only the last episode will bring on the tears and fears, the teaser reel for the remaining five episodes of Season 5 shows glimpses of Yao Fei and Nyssa Al Ghul, and we hear Slade Wilson's (#Deathstroke) voice. These past fan favorites give us a hint at the emotional depth that will be plumbed before the season finale.
With Prometheus still at large and Oliver turning to an unlikely ally, Season 5 will, undoubtedly, go out with a loud bang and leave viewers anxiously awaiting the arrival of a different kind of Season 6. And that is exactly what makes Arrow a kick-ass show!
