Warning: This article contains major spoilers for Arrow's Mid-Season Premiere "Who Are You." Be warned, the revelations are deafening!
Who could forget the shocking Winter Finale of Arrow in which the Green Arrow mistook Detective Malone for Prometheus, Artemis betrayed the team, Diggle was arrested and most of all, Laurel Lance appeared before Oliver — alive and well. And perhaps the most harrowing aspect of the entire thing was that there was no followup trailer to comfort us. However, The CW have corrected that, and released a brand new trailer for Arrow's upcoming Mid-Season Premiere — "Who Are You?"
Check out the brand new trailer below:
Much like the new trailer for The Flash, it might be brief but it sure gives us one major insight into the amazing direction that the series is heading. And if you can contain your excitement for long enough, let's take a look at what the trailer has revealed.
That's Not Our Laurel
The main focus of the trailer stems from the Winter finale's cliffhanger which saw a very much alive Laurel Lance return and appear before Oliver. Longtime Arrow fans will know that the beloved character was controversially killed off last season, which is why we were all thrilled to see her alive in the closing moments of last week's episode. And as we all speculated as to whether it really was Laurel, this new trailer reveals that everything is not quite what it seems.
As Oliver welcomes his fallen former love back into his life, we soon learn that it's not actually her, as she performs Laurel's signature Canary Cry without the sonic collar, meaning only one thing — she's a metahuman. It appears that our beloved Black Canary is actually her evil Earth-2 doppelgänger Black Siren.
For anyone unaware, Katie Cassidy showed up as Black Siren on #TheFlash last season and received acclaim for her devilishly great performance, with Greg Berlanti promising her return. Well, it looks like that return is upon us.
Why she has shown up to plague Team Arrow, we don't know. But one thing is for sure — having Katie Cassidy back on Arrow is something that we have all been waiting for. After sorely missing her presence on the show, I can't wait to see this Siren scream again.
Chase Knows About The Green Arrow's Mistake
One of the Mid-Season Finale's most harrowing moments came when a vengeful Green Arrow fired countless arrows into Prometheus's chest, hoping to have slayed the menacing archer. However, in a heart-wrenching twist, it turned out that Prometheus had dressed Detective Malone in his own outfit, fooling the Green Arrow into killing Felicity's boyfriend instead.
It was a mistake that a guilt-ridden Oliver Queen confessed to his team when he returned, but now the trailer has revealed that District Attorney Adrian Chase knows of the mistake as well. And this could have some major repercussions for the back half of the season, particularly because Chase is really the relentless crime-fighter Vigilante. Thus, it will be intriguing to see who he blames for Malone's death, and if he will exact revenge on either the Green Arrow or Prometheus.
We are all looking forward to the major battle between Green Arrow and Prometheus, but if Vigilante ends up getting involved, you can guarantee that blood will be spilled.

Diggle Faces His Punishment
Another one of the prominent moments from the new trailer reveals John Diggle in Iron Heights, discussing his imprisonment with Oliver. As the Mid-Season Finale saw Diggle arrested, it's likely that Prometheus was behind the whole thing, and now John must face punishment for a crime he didn't commit. But, having already faced jail time, Diggle is determined to see it as his punishment for killing his brother Andy last season and it seems that he is once again happy to serve time as he admits to Oliver that there will be no more running, and that he intends to face it head on. But then again, he could end up facing it head on by declaring his innocence.
And it appears his sentence isn't the only thing he's facing head on as we briefly catch a glimpse of him punching someone that looks very like District Attorney Adrian Chase. Remember Chase had no problem getting gritty in order to get the information he needed from the female robbers in the episode "Vigilante," so perhaps he ends up touching a nerve and pays for it. And you can bet that Diggle won't be intimidated by any of Chase's tactics. Could this lead to Chase targeting Diggle as Vigilante?
Green Arrow Vs. Prometheus II
You know after a mid-season finale when the big bad gets the last word, leaving our hero in a hopeless mess, before disappearing for a while to enjoy his win? Well, it looks like Prometheus doesn't bother taking time off as the trailer reveals him and the Green Arrow battling it out in the rematch we are all looking forward to seeing.
It will certainly be an interesting showdown as Ollie will be out for revenge after everything that happened — but perhaps this time, he won't let vengeance get the better of him and will refrain from killing Prometheus. No matter what happens, all hell is going to break loose when these two face off one more time.
When Arrow's Winter Finale aired, our jaws dropped as we stared at our #TV in complete shock at the events that transpired. So you can understand why we're all excited about the show's impending return. And this trailer has done one heck of a job of maintaining that excitement as it highlights how all hell is set to break loose as the villainous Black Siren returns to deafen our favorite #superheroes while Diggle is imprisoned and Oliver must deal with the fallout of his actions in the mid-season finale.
And because of all this, we are left with arguably even more questions as we have to wonder if Vigilante will put an end to Prometheus's crime-spree and why Black Siren is involved. One thing is for sure — things are about to get deafening for the Emerald Archer.
Arrow returns to The CW on Wednesday 25 January. Are you excited about Black Siren's debut in Star City? Let us know in the comments!
