Ender's Game is all, like, 'Yoink! Thanks, Knowing!' as footage from the 2009 movie is duplicated in the new Ender's Game trailer. Pointed out by this Reddit genius/smartass, the clips used in the new Ender's Game trailer are indubitably the same.
Summit Entertainment own both movies, so I guess they can do what they like? So it's kind of like two artists on the same label releasing bits of the same song within a few years of each other? Totes bizarre, though, I really am not sure quite why such a thing would happen.
sums up my confusion in this matter:
The reproduction of images from a film from four years ago is very odd, considering that Ender's Game has the most up-to-date CGI you could hope for. Why nick some retro shots from an old Nicolas Cage movie? That's like Avatar shoving in frames from The Smurfs and the Magic Flute. To be fair, it is only the briefest of glances that the Ender's Game trailer has purloined from Knowing, provided below for those of us who don't have the superhuman memory of Monsieur Reddit:
Weird, no? I guess it doesn't really matter all that much, but we love a mystery. Tell us, Summit! Shout this in a suitably Cagian voice until you get an answer.
