August: Osage County recently premiered at the Toronto Film Festival. While the early reviews weren't over-enthusiastic (The Hollywood Reporter called it "solid") the movie got itself a big round of applause and a standing ovation at its first public screening.

Both reactions seem entirely plausible judging from this second trailer (watch the first trailer here).

As August: Osage County has a ridiculously great cast and is based on a Pulitzer- and Tony-winning play the expectations might be a bit high on the part of the critics so... I am swaying towards the latter, "pee-your-pants-out-of-excitement" stance.

The dysfunctional family tragicomedy stars ,, , , and other great great actors.
