As a horror fan, whenever the tide of studio slop gets me down, I take heart in the knowledge that independent and festival horror continues to shine. One such film currently getting an immense amount of buzz from Sundance is Australia's The Babadook. makes her directorial debut with this story about a widowed mother whose son is being plagued by a monster.

This latest poster for the film, which comes to us from JoBlo, presents an almost playful depiction of The Babadook itself, but if you take a gander at the trailer, it's clear the tone of the movie is not so family-friendly.

Take a look at the poster and let us know what you think.

Don't even try to get rid of it
