We all know 2011's The Thing was not a patch on John Carpenter's 1982 original. That movie went on to inspire a whole generation of horror fans, and also inspired me to almost soil myself while watching it. Anyway, in turns out The Thing remake still had some pretty awesome looking concept art and ideas.

Here are some sketches and practical effects for the Juliette creature, Alien Pilot, and the Griggs' transformation scene. Ultimately, few of these elements were used in the final film. It seemed the producers preferred to go a more CG route. Shame. Check out the pictures below:
