Now, while recent murmurings about #BenAffleck's possible reluctance to continue on as the #DCEU's resident #Batman may have cast something of a shadow on what was up 'til now a widely respected performance, he still remains our Dark Knight, and most likely will remain so for the foreseeable future.
As it turns out, however, we came close to seeing Affleck in a very different batsuit. Y'see, while #BatmanVSuperman's brooding lead ultimately wound up with a perfectly nice, mildly Dark Knight Returns-y look, the folks behind the scenes went through a fair few alternative designs before settling on the one we saw on the big screen. In other words?
'Batman V Superman' Almost Featured A Very Different Batsuit

The most intriguing part of those designs, however, is perhaps the fact that they would both most likely have been well received by fans — albeit with the above option being perhaps a little less "Clooney-esque" than the one below:
In the end, of course, it seems that the most deserving costume may well have won the day, but it's still interesting to note that we could easily now be living in a world with a very different batsuit — and who knows what difference the beating of that particular butterfly's wings might have led to down the road.
What do you think, though? Would you've preferred to have seen one of Sekeris and Wilkinson's alternate designs in Batman v Superman? Let us know below!
