Although the much-talked-about is probably busy learning how to ride the Batmobile with perfection for his turn as Bruce Wayne/Batman in 's Man of Steel sequel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the Oscar-winning movie maker has just lined up his next directorial project. This time it's for the small screen, as he'll be producing and helming the pilot for the new FOX show The Middle Man.

Deadline is reporting that the show will be set in Boston and will follow

Rudy MacAteer, an FBI agent charged with taking down the Italian mafia, and his confidential informant, Irish-American gangster Mickey Flood. MacAteer’s efforts inadvertently give rise to the Irish mob, as he finds himself bending the laws he is governed by.

A Boston-set crime story should be pretty familiar to Affleck, as he covered cops and robbers in Gone Baby Gone and The Town. Further adding to the show's positive buzz, the plot sounds an awful lot like it was inspired by The Departed, which can only be a good thing. Casting should begin shortly, ahead of an early 2014 shoot, so stay close for that!

I like Affleck just fine and this sounds like an interesting story for him. What do you think?
