The world's greatest superheroes will come together when Justice League hits theaters on November 17, 2017. In anticipation of the upcoming film and it's new trailer, Warner Bros. has been releasing both character teasers and posters for each hero. The second hero to receive this treatment was none other than our favorite Dark Knight, .

took to Twitter to reveal the new image of the Caped Crusader. And while the glorious new shot does look like it was snapped during the same shoot as the Justice League poster, the internet has noticed the suit bares striking similarities to something else.

George Clooney, Is That You?

In the brand new image Batman's suit colors are somewhat inverted, meaning that his grey bodysuit is darker than it should be. But the thing that stands out most is the Bat emblem on his chest, which seems to have traded traditional black for a strikingly bright silver.

Fans couldn't help but notice similarities between this suit and George Clooney's batsuit in the notoriously campy Batman & Robin:

I have to admit, the colors certainly are reminiscent of the second suit George Clooney's Caped Crusader wore in Batman & Robin. But the question is — is this down to the lighting of the photo, an embarrassing Photoshop mistake, or is George Clooney's Batman next on the list of Dark Knight's that the is paying tribute to?

Is The DCEU Channeling The Bright Knight?

While anticipation for Justice League is at an all-time high, it doesn't change the fact that wasn't very well-received by critics and fans who branded it as overwhelmingly grim. So it would make sense for Geoff Johns and Zack Snyder to make some major creative changes to the franchise's upcoming projects. After all, the first trailer for Justice League was considerably lighter in tone than its dark predecessor.

On the other hand, Joel Schumacher's 1997 film Batman & Robin is reviled by most comic book fans, who criticized it for setting Batman's progress back decades. The cheesy one-liners, campy themes and neon colors were no longer acceptable in the modern era. However, while the film is by no means a masterpiece, if you can overlook what it did to the Batman franchise at the time, it's actually pretty entertaining.

Arguably, Batman has never been more colorful than he was in Batman & Robin. Thus, we have to wonder if Ben Affleck's new Justice League outfit is channeling Clooney's bright batsuit to add a little more color to the DCEU. Could the sudden change in Batman's outfit be a reflection of the DCEU's new direction?
