Raise your hand if you remember the days when you had to actually wait for the cast of your once-favorite show or movie to reunite.
Now, put your hand down...you look silly.
Back in the days of televisions that weren't flat, presidents who were famous for just one big scandal, and when nobody had heard of a Pokemon, one of the four (count 'em, four!) major television networks would occasionally have a “reunion special” for one of their canceled shows, or actors from a classic movie would appear on one or the other's current, new show.
Now, with everyone everywhere connected with everyone else everywhere else, you can't throw a stick without seeing a post on Instagram of celebrities who starred in a TV show from years past reuniting and posing for a big selfie.
And it is great!
Here are just 10 of some of the greatest cast reunions from some of the greatest shows and movies in recent (and maybe even earlier) history.
1. The Mary Tyler Moore Show
- Hot in Cleveland
We may have just lost one of the best entertainers to ever grace our television sets, but she was able to squeeze in one last epic half hour with her old castmates. Mary Tyler Moore, along with #BettyWhite, Valerie Harper, Cloris Leachman and Georgia Engel, showed up on Betty's show, Hot in Cleveland, back in 2013.
Witness these legends of comedy in action:
- Must See TV: An All-Star Tribute to James Burrows
This was both the best news ever and the biggest letdown of 2016. It was touted as this huge, awesome, epic #Friends reunion, but ended up being one Bing short. What everyone thought was going to be something out of this world was actually 15 minutes of the stars of the 10-season-long show, and one hour and 45 minutes of us hearing about how many shows James Burrows had directed.
But in all honesty, reuniting members of the casts of not only Friends, but also Will & Grace, #BigBangTheory, Taxi, Cheers and Frasier in one night is no small feat. And it was cool to see five of the six Friends sit on a couch and...talk.
3. Full House
- On Instagram (multiple times) and Jimmy Kimmel
Let's face it; any reunion involving the cast of #FullHouse is going to be downright awesome.
Whether it be a side-splitting skit on #JimmyKimmel:
Instagram is a great place for small impromptu reunions, no matter how far from Middle Earth the Instagrammers had to travel...
4. Lord Of The Rings
- On Instagram
When I go out with the wife or friends, I think it's pretty damn cool to run into the local weatherman, or a radio DJ. Imagine what it would be like to run into The Fellowship of the Ring! Dominic Monaghan threw some pics up on his IG account of him and his fellow #LOTR castmates recently, making all sorts of fanboys and girls go wild:
What the fork are you gonna do with that, Legolas?
5. Back To The Future
- Multiple times
Christopher Lloyd has been popping up on Michael J. Fox's radar ever since #BacktotheFuture Part 3 came and went.
He appeared on The Michael J. Fox Show in 2014:
And on Spin City With Fox in 1999:
But quite possibly the best thing to happen since Doc Brown disappeared into the great wherever in his flying train, he appeared with Fox on Jimmy Kimmel Live on October 21, 2015:

6. The Wonder Years
- At a New York Rangers hockey game
The cast from The Wonder Years has reunited a couple times since the show went off the air, but this surprise reunion at a Rangers game was just plain fun for Fred Savage and Josh Saviano and their fans:
Paul even recreated his little wave from the opening credits of the show!
7. Married With Children
- When Katey Sagal earned her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, her Married With Children family showed up to honor her!
While it would have rocked to see them, or at least Ed, on #SonsofAnarchy with Katey, this was pretty damn cool, too.
- In a 25th anniversary photo shoot
Hook was one of the most memorable takes ever on the Peter Pan story, thanks in a huge way to the late, great #RobinWilliams. The Lost Boys got back together for a 25th reunion back in August to honor Williams:
They reenacted many of their most memorable scenes from the movie, and drop some huge nostalgia bombs with shots like this one-
9. Tom Hanks And Wilson!
- Again, at a New York Rangers hockey game
Actually, the name of the movie is Castaway, but you can't think about that movie without screaming that name. This reunion, again, happened at a Rangers game. In 2015, #TomHanks and his little buddy were up on the Jumbotron:
Finally, Wilson made it ashore.
10. The Sandlot
- In Utah, on the original sandlot
Back in 1993, the world was introduced to #TheSandlot. 20 years of hearing “You're killin' me, Smalls!” the world got to see what the kids looked like as adults!
They reunited in Utah at the actual sandlot where the movie was filmed for some very hippocampus-stimulating photographs.
Those are my picks, now it's your turn! Take me back in time, and tell me your favorite TV show/movie cast reunion of all time in the comments!
