Despite its popularity, has faced a lot of criticism lately. From the dodgy CGI backdrops and unrealistic animals, to massive continuity errors and who could forget the explicit violence of the season premiere when Negan murdered Glenn and Abraham? No matter the subject, the fans have wasted no time in telling us exactly how they feel about the hit AMC series, taking to social media to make their voice heard every Sunday night.

Tonight's instalment of shifted focus from Rick and took viewers back to The Kingdom. It was a rather momentous occasion as we saw Carol return to her former badass self.

During the episode, fans took to Twitter to rave over the fact that the true Carol was making a return. Despite the character's desire for a fresh start, the war against Negan has been in dire need of some of Carol's crazy killer antics and this episode laid the groundwork for her to become more involved. Let's take a look at the some of the greatest online reactions to "Rambo" Carol's return.

However, as much as we loved Carol's development in the episode, it was actually the death of Benjamin that had many viewers sobbing their hearts out. Let's take a look at some of the best reactions.

As shocking as Benjamin's death was, it wasn't the most shocking death of the night. Morgan struggled to cope with the death of his friend and when he found out that Richard was responsible for it, let's just say he didn't take it too well.

Morgan finally broke his no kill rule on Richard and choked Ezekiel's right hand man to death in front of a captive audience. As you can imagine, the viewers had a lot to say on the matter:

Isn't it just wonderful to have the real Carol back? Perhaps she will be the one responsible for taking out Negan after all.
