After eight years comedic service, will depart Saturday Night Live when the current season ends on Saturday, according to The New York Times. Speaking about his decision to quit the show he joined back in 2005, Hader revealed:
It was a hard decision, but it has to happen at some point. It got to a point where I said, 'Maybe it’s just time to go.'
Hader was famous for his offbeat comedy caricatures, especially Stefon, the flamboyant NYC correspondent who offers recommendations on obscure and bizarre nighclubs and Vinny Vedecci, a chain-smoking Italian talk show host who speaks barely a word of English.
In recent years, Hader has started to forge a successful Hollywood career having starred in Superbad, Tropic Thunder and Men in Black 3 and again provides the voice of Flint Lockwood for Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2, which lands in theaters later this year.
In honor of the funny man, sit back, relax and check out the video of the Best of Stefon below.
