Get your spatulas cleaned, your gray sweatpants washed, and your mustache finely combed — because Bob's Burgers is coming to theaters. 20th Century Fox released a statement today that it's going forward with plans to make a film based on the critically acclaimed animated sitcom.

The series recently took home its second Emmy for Outstanding Animated Series. Following such iconic series as South Park and that became movies, the Bob's Burgers film will have a high bar to clear.

Bob's Burgers follows the adventures of the Belcher family — Bob, Linda, Tina, Gene and Louise — and their zany cavalcade of cartoon pals. Bob, the owner and chef of the family restaurant, runs the business alongside his wife Linda and their three uniquely comical children. The show has gained massive appeal due to its grounded setting and its uncanny ability to identify with the struggles facing everyday families, while using witty humor and genuine family bonding to keep optimism alive and well.

Loren Bouchard, creator the series, had this to say following the announcement.

“We’re thrilled to be invited to bring Bob’s Burgers to the big screen. We know the movie has to scratch every itch the fans of the show have ever had, but it also has to work for all the good people who’ve never seen the show. We also know it has to fill every inch of the screen with the colors and the sounds and the ever so slightly greasy texture of the world of Bob’s – but most of all it has to take our characters on an epic adventure. In other words, it has to be the best movie ever made. But no pressure, right?!”

20th Century Fox Film chairman and CEO Stacey Snider said that their team couldn't be more excited to take on this project, which fits in with their initiative to put more animation and family content on the big screen.

Given the response that the show has had over the course of the past seven seasons, fans will surely have their expectations set to the max. Given 's past with adaptations of other animated programs, we can only hope that history will repeat itself, bringing a new scope to what's already one of the best shows on television.

The Bob's Burgers movie is set to hit theaters on July 7, 2020.
